MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514001757 A) filed by Siemens Mobility Gmbh, Munchen, Germany, on Jan. 8, for 'method for switch diagnosis for a railroad switch, simulation model and computing facility.'
Inventor(s) include Chen-Xiang Chao; and Antonio Bravo Vera.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a method for switch diagnosis for a railroad switch (1), wherein the railroad switch (1) comprises at least one mechanical testing facility (6) for checking at least one end position of the railroad switch (1). In order to provide a reliable switch diagnosis, it is provided in accordance with the invention that data relating to a mechanical arrangement of the testing facility (6) and other parts of the railroad switch (1) which are connected to the testing facility (6) in a basic state and also a value for a basic state temperature and at least one material characteristic value of the testing facility (6) and the connected parts are determined, and, using the data relating to the arrangement in the basic state, the basic state temperature and the material characteristic value, a position change of the testing facility (6), in particular in a predetermined range, with respect to the geometric basic state is calculated in dependence upon an actual temperature that has changed with respect to the basic state temperature. The invention relates furthermore to a simulation model (14) of a railroad switch (1) and a computing facility (12) for a railroad switch (1)."
