MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414090247 A) filed by Robert Bosch Gmbh, Stuttgart, Germany, on Nov. 20, 2024, for 'method for testing the tightness of one or more combustion chambers of internal combustion engine.'

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present subject matter relates to a method for testing the tightness of one or more combustion chambers of an internal combustion engine, using a fuel 5 injector with which fuel can be introduced into one or each of the several combustion chambers, comprising for the one or each of the several combustion chambers: controlling (406) the fuel injector in order to introduce fuel into the combustion chamber at a first crankshaft angle of the internal combustion engine in a first injection or blowing process, determining (408) a characteristic time duration 10 of the first injection or blowing process, controlling (410) the fuel injector in order to introduce fuel into the combustion chamber at a second crankshaft angle of the internal combustion engine in a second injection or blowing process, determining (412) a characteristic time duration of the second injection or blowing process."
