Inventor(s) include Kuhnert, Christian; Lenz, Birgit; Kieferle, Stefan; Strasser, Markus; Wussler, Nicolas; Schwab, Martin; and Schugger, Christian.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method for operating a tank unit (1) for storing a gaseous fuel for a vehicle, said method involving the steps of: measuring a temperature of the gas in the tank vessel (TB) at a specific instant or over a specific time period (t) during a fueling operation using the respective temperature sensor; ascertaining a change in temperature and/or a temperature gradient on the basis of the measured temperature; ascertaining or providing an expected change in temperature and/or an expected temperature gradient of the gas in the tank vessel using a temperature model for the specific instant or the specific time period (t) during the fueling operation; comparing the change in temperature and/or the temperature gradient with the expected change in temperature and/or the expected temperature gradient for the tank vessel (TB1, TB2, ..., TBn), and from said comparison, establishing a plausibility of a functionality of the temperature sensor."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 09, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/050375.
