MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517040122 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on April 25, for 'method spot welding method.'

The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The objective of the present invention is to provide a resistance spot welding method. The present invention provides a resistance spot welding method for two or more steel plates including at least one surface-treated steel sheet having a metal plated layer, the method including, after a main energization step for the purpose of nugget formation, a cooling step, a post-energization step, and a holding step, wherein a cooling time Ct in the cooling step is equal to or greater than 140 ms, and a holding time Ht(ms) in the holding step satisfies formula (1) or formula (2). (1) If Ct = 2 D vTS-80, then D vTS-0.5 Ct Ht=2700 D/vTS+Ct (2) If Ct 2 D vTS-80, then 40 Ht = 2700 D/vTS+Ct."
