The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Compositions for the treatment of Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) are provided, in particular for targeted genomic or mRNA editing to treat ADPKD. The compositions comprise a nucleic acid encoding at least one guide RNA (gRNA) wherein the at least one gRNA is configured to hybridise with a region within a 3' untranslated region (UTR) of a PKD1 gene, optionally wherein the region is proximal to or within a miR-17 binding site. Removal or disruption of the miR-17 binding site reduces or eliminates miRNA-17 mediated suppression of expressed PKD1 mRNA within target cells of the kidney thereby treating ADPKD."
