MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441013823 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 26, 2024, for 'methods and systems for preventing de-synchronization of secondary node key.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments herein disclose methods and systems for preventing de-synchronization of a secondary node key in a wireless network by a secondary node (SN) (102). The method includes receiving a SN reconfiguration complete message from a User Equipment (UE) (300) through a master node (MN) (200). The SN reconfiguration complete message includes a security key associated with a SN counter value. Further, the method includes selecting the security key associated with the SN counter value received in SN reconfiguration complete message. Further, the method includes activating a User Plane (UP) protection after computing a required UP key. Further, the method includes determining that the security key matches with the UP key. Further, the method includes deleting the security key associated with the SN counter value based on the determination."
