MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133311 A) filed by Dr. Mahalingam College Of Engineering And Technnology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'mobile app controlled lawn trimming, cleaning and sprinkling system.'
Inventor(s) include Rsherine Jenny; R Sudhakar; N Sugirtham; and M. Sneka Venkateswarl.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An autonomous lawn maintenance system controlled by an app on a mobile device integrates grass trimming, cleanup, and sprinkling operations in a single robotic system. I consists of a microcontroller with an HC-05 Bluetooth module and an L293D motor driver for controlling functions from an app on an Android device up to 10 meters. It uses multiple 12 V DC motors for operating wheels, bidirectional cutting blades, a suction fan collector with a multi-blade fan, and a sprinkler system supplied with water from an internal wate storage system facilitated with a rotating sprinkler stand on a stable square frame. I integrates operations, optimizing against watering, which may be inefficient before trimming cycles and automates the collection of debris without human intervention. The bidirectional cutting blade optimizes trimming cycles with better performance whilf reversing and overcoming limitations associated with traditional automated lawn mowers based on edge residue. The invention addresses automated lawn mowers dependent on video streaming and irrigation separate from trimming."
