MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621008724 A) filed by Lakshmi Narain College Of Technology, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on Jan. 28, for 'mobile solar-assisted farm produce drying and handling device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Rakeshwri Agrawal; Dr. Naveen Asati; Dr. Amit Shrivastava; Dr. Santosh Kumar Vishwakarma; Dr. Sujeet Kumar Soni; and Prof. Susheel Kumar Gupta.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mobile solar-assisted farm produce drying and handling device, comprises of a cart 101 mounted on a plurality of wheels 102 to enable mobility over a surface, a farm produce transferring unit to grip and place farm produce into a multi-tray drying chamber 106, a solar water heater unit to generate and regulate thermal energy, a heat exchanger unit to transfer heat from circulating hot water to airflow in an indirect manner, a blower unit to force heated air into the drying chamber 106, a moisture sensor to detect moisture content and drying completion level of the farm produce, a speaker 120 o provide auditory announcements of farm produce type, tray location, shelf life, and alerts, a flat plate solar collector 111 to optimize solar exposure and thermal energy absorption and a circulation pump 115 to enable forced circulation of water."
