The control unit (202) comprises a processor (302) and a memory (304) operatively coupled to the processor (302), the memory (304) storing instructions that, when executed, cause the control unit (202) to receive the emergency trigger, generate the telecommunication signal for transmission to at least one remote caregiver, and generate the alert signal for transmission to at least one proximate computing device, the signals comprising emergency-related information associated with a user."
