MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010119 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'mobility assistive device for disabled.'

Inventor(s) include Shambhu Bharadwaj; and Dr. Sandeep Bishnoi.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mobility assistive device for disabled, comprises of a frame 1 utilize to position on a ground surface, a seat 2 arranged with the frame 1 access by a user to accommodate on the frame 1 a backrest 3 attached with the seat 2 via a motorized hinge joint 4 to support the user's back, a pair of footrests 5 arranged at lower portion of the frame 1 to rest the user's feet, a microphone is integrated on the frame 1 for receiving voice command of the user regarding a posture to be attained, a telescopically operated rod 7 integrated in between the frame 1 and seat 2 for inclining the seat 2, a pair of looped straps 8 arranged on the footrest 5 for engaging the user's feet, and at least three wheels 9 are arranged underneath the frame 1 for providing mobility to the user."
