MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018864 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'mobility assistive device for physically impaired person.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Amit Saraf.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mobility assistive device for physically impaired person, comprising a U-shaped frame 1 configured with multiple omni-directional wheels 3 for maneuvering frame 1, a seat 4 for enabling person for attaining sitting posture over seat 4, a laser measurement sensor detects dimension of person, multiple rods 6 extend/ retract in a manner to accommodate person within frame 1, two telescopic resting pads 7 for allowing person to rest their foot portion as detected by an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 8 and accordingly pads 7 extend and retract to provide an optimum comfort to person's feet, a microphone 9 accessed by user to feed command related to movement of frame 1 and accordingly wheels 3 translate frame 1, a speed sensor detects speed of frame 1 and accordingly wheels 3 slow down frame 1 for preventing any chances of accidents of frame 1."
