MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025572 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'modular carrier for bicycles.'
Inventor(s) include M. Moni; Arun Saini; Nitin Kumar; and Neha Vashishta.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular carrier for bicycles comprises of, a frame 1 developed to be arranged on rear portion of a bicycle acts as a carrier of the bicycle to accommodate an object that is to be carried on the bicycle, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 to determine dimensions of the object, a drawer arrangement 2 to increase dimensions of the frame 1, a pair of telescopically operated rods 6 to extend/retract for positioning a suction cup 8 on top portion of the object in view of adhering to the object for securing the object on the frame 1, a LiDAR sensor to determine unevenness of the surface on which the user is riding the bicycle, an electromagnetic spring to adjust suspension of the frame 1, and a pair of LED's 5 for producing light beams to act as a signal in view of enhancing communication with other individuals."
