MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024850 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'modular cloth washing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sonam; Upasna; Ravi Goyal; and Palak Thakur.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular cloth washing assistive device, comprising a cylindrical body 1 developed to be installed on a ground surface accessed by a user for dumping dirty clothes which are to be washed, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 installed on the body 1 to determine length of the body 1 filled with the clothes, plurality of motorized wheels 3 arranged underneath the body 1 to move the body 1 towards a designated washing area in surrounding of the body 1 and plurality of motorized clamping units 4 integrated on outer periphery on the body 1 to acquire a grip on ends of the accommodated clothes for stretching the clothes in order to allow the user to appropriate wash the clothes."
