MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441012956 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'modular drilling assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular drilling assistive device that comprises a cuboidal body 1 developed to be connected with a drilling machine, an adjustable chuck 2 for gripping tip portion of drilling machine in order to connect the body with the drilling machine, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 to determine the size of a drill bit that the user desires to attach, a telescopically operated clamping unit 4 for extending or retracting followed by gripping of the drill bit, a pressure sensor for detecting successful clamping of the drill bit, a speaker 5 assembled on the body for generating voice commands, a motorized bevel gear 6 for translating rotational motion of the drilling machine to the drill bit and an IR(Infrared) sensor for detecting presence of any obstacle in proximity to the workpiece."
