MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013464 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'modular hat maintenance and storage device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular hat maintenance and storage device comprises an elongated body 1 installed with an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 for capturing multiple images, a pair of extendable L-shaped plates 3 for extending/retracting to cover the brim of the hat, a sensing module for determining the presence of moisture, stain, unpleasant odor on the crown portion of the hat, a cylindrical member 4 attached via motorized ball and socket joint 5 to rotate the member 4, plurality of motorized iris lids 6 for circulating a pressurized air within the hat, plurality of electronically controlled nozzles 7 for dispensing cleaning solution within the hat, and plurality of rotatable circular discs 8 for scrubbing against the crown portion in order to thoroughly clean the hat."
