MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024873 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'modular shade providing device for ground surfaces.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular shade providing device for ground surfaces, comprising a body 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, suction cups 2 for securing the body 1 on said surface, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for capturing multiple images of a user lying underneath the plate 4 to determine exact location of the user, motorized ball and socket joint 5 for orienting the plate 4 over the user's face portion, motorized hinge joint 7 for deploying a flap 8 in view of creating a shade over the user and facilitate the user in properly using electronic gadgets and reading books without causing glare on the user's eyes and motorized air blower 9 for blowing cold air towards the user in view of providing comfort to the user."
