MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024079 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 26, 2024, for 'modular skiing assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Pragati Saxena; and Dr. Neelam Kumari.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A modular skiing assistive device, comprising an inverted U-shaped frame 1 positioned on a ground surface of a slanted icy region, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 determines position of support, a hydraulically operated rod 4 via a pair of clamps 3 positions clamps 3 in proximity to support, a drawer arrangement 5 to adjust size of clamps 3, a motorized hinge joint 6 opens/closes clamp, plurality of suction units 7 adheres to support, a skiing unit having a pair of elongated plates 8 arranged with frame 1, a pair of motorized winches 9 coiled with a looped strap 10 enables user to insert user's feet on plates 8 through looped strap 10, a microphone 11 enables user to provide input commands regarding a distance, and a pair of motorized rollers 12 coiled with a harness unwraps harness in accordance to user-specified distance while user skis on surface."
