MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541083212 A) filed by Dr Sheeba Gopalakrishnan U; and Albin Joseph, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on Sept. 2, 2025, for 'motor-driven blind assembly for timed physical interruption of display screens.'
Inventor(s) include Dr Sheeba Gopalakrishnan U; and Albin Joseph.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Motor-Driven Blind Assembly for Timed Physical Interruption of Display Screens The invention relates to display screen management systems and digital ergonomics, and particularly to a motor-driven blind assembly (10) for timed physical interruption of display screens. The assembly comprises a controller (42, 51, 67), a motor-driven actuator (41, 52, 65) mechanically coupled to a rotatable shaft (64, 91), and a blind assembly (16, 69) mounted on the shaft and supported by a supporting structure (61-63) configured for external attachment to a display screen (17). The controller generates predetermined viewing and interruption intervals and automatically actuates the blind assembly to fully occlude the visible display area during the interruption interval. Upon completion of the interruption interval, the blind assembly retracts and the timing cycle restarts. The system operates as a standalone hardware module independent of operating systems, application software, or user input, enabling automatic timed interruption of screen viewing."
