MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025454 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'motorcycle wheel rim maintenance device.'
Inventor(s) include Lochan Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A motorcycle wheel rim maintenance device, comprising a platform 1 positioned on a ground surface and installed with an inverted U-shaped frame 2, installed with a circular disc via a rod for accommodating a motorcycle wheel rim, a touch enabled screen 3 to give input commands for maintenance of rim, an expandable pulley arrangement increasing diameter of disc for gripping rim with disc, a motorized roller 4 installed on platform 1 via an L-shaped telescopically operated bar 5 for positioning roller 4 near bottom portion of rim, to rotate rim, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 detects alignment of rim, a telescopically operated pusher 7 extends/retracts to apply force on rim for straightening rim, and an electronic nozzle 8 attached with a chamber 9 for dispensing cleaning solution to loosen dirt/dust from rim, a robotic arm 10 via a brush 4 eliminates moisture from rim."
