MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024016 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'nail and screw withdrawal assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A nail and screw withdrawal assistive device, comprises of a V-shaped body 1 incorporating a primary and secondary C-shaped extendable member configured with each end of the body 1 that are developed for assisting the user in withdrawing the nail or screw from the surface, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 installed over the body 1 to determine dimension of the nail or screw to be withdrawn, plurality of telescopic pins 5 arranged over inner periphery of the member to position the pins, a motorized hinge joint 6 installed in between each of the pins and primary member 2 to provide movement to the pins, a circular motorized sliding unit 7 arranged over inner periphery of the secondary member 3 to provide translation to plurality of grippers 8, and a telescopic rod 9 configured between each of the gripper and sliding unit 7 for positioning the grippers 8."
