MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010123 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'nail holding assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Neeraj Kaushik.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A nail holding assistive device, includes a V-shaped frame 1 held by a user in proximity to a wall surface, a pair of inverted L-shaped flaps 2 enables user to place fingers while holding frame 1, a cavity 7 crafted between flaps 2 for enabling user to place an iron nail to be installed on wall, a touch sensor installed on cavity 7 for detecting placement of nail, an electromagnetic patch 4 arranged on flaps 2 for magnetizing to affix nail on frame 1, a holographic projection unit 5 for projecting a holographic image in proximity to frame 1 to assist user to hammer nail, a LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) sensor for detecting orientation of nail, in case of bending of nail, a speaker 6 actuates for generating voice commands to notify user regarding bending of nail."
