MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411016931 A) filed by Birla Institute Of Technology & Science; and Spandit Ayurvedic Company Private Limited, Pilani, Rajasthan, on March 8, 2024, for 'nanoemulsion compositions containing ayurvedic oil and a method of preparing the same.'

Inventor(s) include Chitkara Deepak; Guha Sonia; Chavan Shivam Vijay; and Pandey Murali Manohar.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A therapeutic surface-coated nanoemulsion formulation for topical application and a method of preparing the same The present invention related to a therapeutic surface-coated nanoemulsion formulation for topical application. The formulation comprises an inner core and an outer surface coating. The inner core comprises at least one surfactant and at least one co-surfactant mixed with droplets of a herbal oil blend and the outer surface coating comprises an aqueous phase having chitosan solubilized in a suitable acid or hyaluronic acid solubilized in water. The herbal oil blend is Jatyadi Taila prepared by boiling Glycyrrhiza glabra, Picrorhiza kurroa, Rubia cordifolia, and Melia azedarach in Sesamum indicum oil. The invention also provides a method of preparing the said therapeutic formulation."
