MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025540 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'nasal drop dispensing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Rupinder Kaur Sodhi; Dr. Deepika Sharma; and Dimpal Rajput.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A nasal drop dispensing assistive device, comprising a frame 1 having a plate 2 positioned on a neck portion of a user and installed with an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 to determine structure of user's neck portion, multiple motorized hinge joints 3 tilt plate 2 to properly accommodate frame 1 on user's neck portion, an inverted U-shaped member 5 is attached with plate 2 via a motorized ball and socket joint 6 to attain stable position over user's facial portion, a robotic arm 7 configuring a clamping unit holds a bottle of medicated solution, a LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensor detects dimensions and position of nose and nostrils thereafter arm 7 positions bottle above user's nose, a speaker 8 guides user to tilt neck and position head at an optimum position, a pair of electromagnetic springs 9 facilitate pressing of bottle for pouring medicinal drops inside nostrils."
