MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517020132 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on March 6, for 'negative electrode for lithium secondary battery and method of manufacturing same.'
Inventor(s) include Yoon Jong Su; Cho Jin Ho; and Lee Taek Soo.
The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery and method of manufacturing same wherein the negative electrode includes a carbon based negative electrode active material and a silicon based negative electrode active material together in a negative electrode active layer and thus exhibits a high charge and discharge capacity. In addition the negative electrode active layer of the negative electrode has a two layer structure wherein in the second negative electrode active layer positioned at the outermost layer i) the order index (O.I) of the carbon based negative electrode active material and ii) the ratio of the order index (O.I) and a specific X ray diffraction peak area of the silicon based negative electrode active material are adjusted to satisfy a predetermined range resulting in the advantage of improving the high efficiency charging/discharging characteristics of a lithium secondary battery including same."
The patent application was internationally filed on June 11, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/095877.
