MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202637025480 A) filed by Symrise Ag, Holzminden, Germany, on March 4, for 'new perfumes and uses thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Kraft, Philip; Mansfeld, Marc; and Duker, Carolin.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to new 4-(3',8',8'-trimethyl-2',3',4',7',8',8a'-hexahydro-1H-3a',7'-methanoazulen-6'-yl)butan-2-one, optionally methoxy-substituted at positions C-1 and C-3, of formula (I) as defined herein, and to the use thereof as ambergris-like perfumes. In particular, the present invention relates to the use of compounds (1), (2) and (3) as perfumes and as fixatives, and to the use thereof in perfume compositions in combination with other perfumes. The present invention also relates to a method for perfuming a product with the compounds according to the invention and to a corresponding perfumed product."
