MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517068753 A) filed by Alphamol Science Ltd (SHANGHAI), Shanghai, on July 18, for 'new phenylquinolone compound having antibacterial and anti-cancer functions and preparation thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Yuan, Shuguang; Li, Haijian; Pan, Qing; and Qin, Taisheng.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed in the present invention are a new phenylquinolone compound having antibacterial and anti-cancer functions and the preparation thereof, which belong to the technical field of medicines. Provided in the present invention is a phenylquinolone compound as represented by formula (I) having antibacterial and anti-cancer activities or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, a stereoisomer, a deuterated compound or a prodrug thereof. Also provided in the present invention is an antibacterial composition containing one or more compounds of formula (I) or salts thereof. The present invention further comprises a method for treating and preventing bacterial infections and the growth of tumor cells by means of administering several effective doses of the compounds of formula (I) or salts thereof."
