Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for 'Non-Oriented Electrical Steel Sheet, Method For Manufacturing Same, And Motor Core Comprising Same' Filed by Posco Co. Ltd.

MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517055532 A) filed by Posco Co. Ltd., Gyeongsangbuk, Republic of Korea, on June 9, for 'non-oriented electrical steel sheet, method for manufacturing same, and motor core comprising same.'

Inventor(s) include Kim, Jaehoon; Kim, Seungil; and Kim, Wonjin.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A non-oriented electrical steel sheet according to an embodiment of the present invention contains, in wt%, 2.8-4.0% of Si, 0.5-1.7% of Al, and 0.3-2.0% of Mn, with the remainder comprising Fe and inevitable impurities. In addition, a surface layer is present from the surface of the steel sheet toward the inside the steel sheet, an insulating coating layer is present on the surface of the steel sheet, and the weight ratio (Al/Mn) of Al to Mn in the insulating coating layer and the surface layer is 1-10."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 24, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/019106.
