MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013307 A) filed by National Institute Of Pharmaceutical Education And Research, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 23, 2024, for 'novel hydantoin based process for the synthesis of ru58841.'

Inventor(s) include Manjinder Singh Gill; Pankaj Harkal; and Vishakha Dhiman.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method of synthesis of a compound of Formula I,, RU58841. The present method is a simple method which is green, safe, efficient, cost-friendly and is carried out under mild reaction conditions. Particularly, the present invention is devoid of hazardous, toxic and expensive chemicals which are commercially unavailable, moisture sensitive and irritant. The present invention washes away impurities by the step of filtration thus avoiding the use of column purification. Therefore, the present method is time and cost efficient as well as sustainable."
