Abstract: NOVEL SIMULTANEOUS TRANSMISSION-REFLECTION SURFACE USING SINGLE METAL LAYER CONFIGURATION FOR GENERATION OF POLARIZATION-SENSITIVE ANAPOLE STATES Abstract A passive, low-profile simultaneous transmission-reflection metasurface is disclosed for polarization- sensitive wave engineering without using dielectric substrates or active components. The metasurface is formed from a single, thin conductive metallic layer perforated with a periodic two-dimensional array of unit cells containing specifically oriented subwavelength rectangular apertures. The geometric arrangement and lengths of the apertures are optimized to govern the localized surface current distributions induced by an incoming electromagnetic wave. At targeted operating frequencies, these currents simultaneously excite co-linear electric dipole and toroidal dipole moments that possess equal magnitudes and opposite phases. This induces a complete destructive far-field interference that establishes a non-radiating pseudo-anapole state, rendering the metallic layer resonant-transparent for a specific linear polarization while acting as a highly efficient reflector for the orthogonal polarization. This single-layer meta-device provides highly isolated, bidirectional wave manipulation suitable for 5G and 6G FR3 band telecommunication deployment. (FIG. 1)
