MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611027006 A) filed by Fiberise Fit Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, on March 7, for 'nutritional composition for calorie intake control and postprandial glycemic regulation and method for preparation thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Diwakar Vaish; and Sakshi Dhall.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a nutritional composition for controlling caloric intake and regulating postprandial glycemic response and a method for preparation thereof. The composition comprises resistant dextrin in a concentration range of 5 g to 15 g and Phaseolus vulgaris extract comprising alpha-amylase inhibitory proteins in a concentration range of 250 mg to 2000 mg. The resistant dextrin absorbs gastric fluid and expands within the stomach to induce gastric distension and stimulate satiety signaling, while the Phaseolus vulgaris extract inhibits pancreatic alpha-amylase activity, thereby reducing enzymatic digestion of carbohydrates. The combined action of the soluble fiber and enzyme inhibitor delays gastric emptying, reduces carbohydrate digestion, and moderates postprandial glucose absorption. The composition may be formulated as a powdered drink mix, capsule, sachet, beverage, or functional food product. The invention further discloses a method for preparation involving sourcing, blending, homogenizing, and packaging of the ingredients to obtain a nutritionally effective composition."
