MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517014951 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 21, for 'o-ring for electrolyte injection and method for manufacturing cylindrical battery using same.'

Inventor(s) include Lee, Ja-Sool; Kim, Hak-Kyun; Park, Kyeong-Hoon; Park, Pil-Kyu; Lee, Je-Jun; and Jung, Ji-Min.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides an o-ring for electrolyte injection and a method for manufacturing a cylindrical battery using same. The o-ring for electrolyte injection, according to the present invention, may comprise: a body portion having open upper and lower ends and defining a hollow cavity along the center axis thereof; and a diameter enlarging portion which extends from the lower outer circumference of the body portion in a centrifugal direction and the center axis direction. The diameter enlarging portion has the outer circumference surrounding the periphery of the center axis and can be elastically transformed when pressure is applied in the axial direction so that the diameter of the outer circumference can increase in the centrifugal direction."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 22, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/021494.
