MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441014218 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'object holding assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An object holding assistive device, comprising a wearable equipped over a hand portion of a disabled/ injured user's hand, a laser measurement sensor detects dimension of hand portion, a motorized roller 2 winds/unwinds a strap 3 to allow user to grip an end strap 3 and engage with a hook embedded on frame 6, a microphone 4 accessed by user to feed voice commands regarding a type of operation, an imaging unit 5 determines structural configuration of object, a frame 6 configured with multiple hooks 7 installed on component 1 to hold an object, a sliding arrangement 8 adjusts hooks 7 for securing object, an inverted L-shaped telescopic rod 9 positions a clamping unit 10 for gripping object, and a telescopic pole 11 extends and positions a suction cup 12 on a lid of a container and followed by retraction of pole 11 for opening lid."
