MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202537069282 A) filed by Beijing Roborock Innovation Technology Co. Ltd., Beijing, on July 21, for 'obstacle detection method and apparatus for robot, and medium and electronic device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed are an obstacle detection method and apparatus for a robot, and a medium and an electronic device. The method comprises: acquiring three-dimensional point cloud data of an obstacle in a first coordinate system, the first coordinate system being a coordinate system established by a robot at the current position with the robot as the origin; fusing the three-dimensional point cloud data to a grid map with the robot as the center so as to determine obstacle grid points in the grid map; clustering the obstacle grid points to obtain at least one obstacle grid point set; and generating an obstacle object in the grid map according to the obstacle grid point set."
