MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017481 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 11, 2024, for 'ocular drug delivery-enabled nanostructured lipid carrier based composition and method for preparation thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Sandhya Jaiswal; Anjoo Kamboj; and Shilpa Kumari.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a ocular drug delivery-enabled nanostructured lipid carrier based composition, comprising; i) stearic acid in range of 70-80 mg, ii) oleic acid in range of 215-235 mg, iii) econazole in range of 90-110 mg, iv) span 80 in range of 85-98 mg, v) tween 80 in range of 90-110 mg, and vi) distilled water in range of 15-25 ml. A method for preparation of the composition comprises of, melting stearic acid to prepare liquid phase that is added with oleic acid, followed by slow addition of econazole with constant stirring to obtain a clear solution that is added with span 80, subsequently heating solution and a tween 80 aqueous phase, slowly adding solution in aqueous phase during magnetic stirring to obtain a pre-emulsion that is homogenized to obtain a homogenous mixture followed by ultrasonicating obtained mixture to obtain a nano-emulsion that recrystallize for formation of composition."
