MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517065456 A) filed by Kabushiki Kaisha Riken, Tokyo, on July 9, for 'oil control ring.'
Inventor(s) include Namba Yukihiko; and Hirade Yoshiyuki.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An oil control ring comprising: an annular main body portion having an inner circumferential surface and an outer circumferential surface and one side surface and the other side surface that are substantially orthogonal to the inner circumferential surface; and a coil expander installed along the inner circumferential surface. In the oil control ring, the main body portion has a pair of annular first rail portion and second rail portion and a column portion that connects the first rail portion and the second rail portion to each other. Each of outer circumferential surfaces of the first rail portion and the second rail portion has a protruding surface having a cross-sectional shape that protrudes radially outward in a protruding shape. The protruding surface is an arc surface having a curvature radius of 0.30 mm or less in a sliding contact area including an apex that is the radially outermost point of each of the first rail portion or second rail portion."
