MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517058930 A) filed by Capactech Limited, Kingston Upon Thames, U.K., on June 19, for 'onboard charger for electric vehicles.'

Inventor(s) include Vargas-Reighley, Dorian.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An onboard charger for an electric vehicle is configured to receive: (a) an input alternating current at a low frequency, (b) an input alternating current at a high frequency, and (c) an input direct current, for charging of an internal electric vehicle battery. The onboard charger is bidirectional, being configured to output direct current for charging of the battery and also configured to discharge the battery outputting alternating current at a low frequency, alternating current at a high frequency, or direct current."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 14, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/085967.
