MUMBAI, India, July 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521059494 A) filed by Dr. Abhishek Bhonsale, Maharashtra, on June 20, for 'open bite button inbuilt aligner system (obias).'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention discloses an orthodontic appliance for orthodontic correction of malocclusion in a dental arch comprising an aligner system 1 adapted to be secured to an upper and a lower dentition, including an upper maxillary dentition aligner 2 and a lower mandibular dentition aligner 3; an at least one attachment member 4 inbuilt within the aligner system 1 from inside that appears as an elevation on outside of the aligner system 1; and an at least one stretchable member 5 engaged onto the at least one attachment member 4 inbuilt within the aligner system 1, to produce a compression force that is exerted on the at least one inbuilt attachment member 4."
