MUMBAI, India, March 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517011456 A) filed by Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd., Tokyo, on Feb. 11, for 'optical film, optical effect film, easily adhesive film, optical laminate, surface plate, image display device, and polarizing plate.'

Inventor(s) include Furui Gen; Yoshikata Kuniaki; Horio Tomoyuki; Kato Emiko; Kubota Shosei; and Segawa Hiroaki.

The application for the patent was published on March 7, under issue no. 10/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "[Problem] To provide an optical film which has excellent visibility and can reduce the environmental impact thereof. [Solution] An optical film for lamination of a functional layer, said optical film comprising polyester, wherein: the biomass degree of the optical film is not less than 10%; the total light transmittance of the optical film is not less than 70%; and the in-plane phase contrast of optical film is 3,000-30,000 nm."

The patent application was internationally filed on July 11, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/025582.
