MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202417070077 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Sept. 17, 2024, for 'organic/inorganic composite porous coating layer-containing separator for electrochemical device, and electrochemical device including same.'

Inventor(s) include Ka, Kyung-Ryun; Kim, Min-Ji; Lee, Seung-Hyun; and Kim, Hye-Won.

The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A separator for an electrochemical device according to the present invention comprises: a porous polymer substrate; and an organic/inorganic composite porous coating layer formed on at least one side of the polymer substrate, wherein the organic/inorganic composite porous coating layer includes particulate binder polymers and first inorganic particles, the particulate binder polymers include hybrid polymer particles of a fluorine-based polymer and an acrylic polymer and acrylic polymer particles, the particle size D50 (a) of the acrylic polymer particles is 1-7 m, the particle size D50 (b) of the first inorganic particles is 200-800 nm, a/b is 2-15, and the particle size D50 of the hybrid polymer particles is smaller than the particle size D50 of the acrylic polymer particles."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 07, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/003116.
