MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611001747 A) filed by UPES, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Jan. 7, for 'otp suraksha: system for secure one-time password (otp) verification.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a system (100) for secure one-time password (OTP) verification, comprising: a backend server (102) to generate an OTP in response to an authentication request; an Encryption Layer (104) to encrypt the generated OTP prior to storage; a storage module (106) to store the generated OTP in encrypted form; a call-context acquisition module (108) to receive real-time call-state information and caller-trust information associated with a user device; a decision engine (110) operatively coupled to the backend server (102), to evaluate the call-state information and the caller-trust information prior to OTP transmission, and selectively permit or block delivery of the OTP based on the evaluation; a Twilio OTP Communication Channel (112) to transmit the OTP via short message service (SMS) only upon approval by the decision engine (110); and an audit and logging module (114) configured to record data for traceability and security analysis."
