MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010382 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'parking space management system for parking lot.'

Inventor(s) include Prof. Tarun Singhal; Preet Bansal; Lucky Kumar; Sachin Sagar; and Mohit Jaiswal.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A parking space management system for parking lot comprises of, a platform 1, installed with an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for detecting dimensions of the vehicle, multiple cameras 11 for detecting parking space in the parking lot 10 as per the dimensions of the vehicle, a GPS (Global Positioning System) for fetching real-time location of the platform 1, a screen 3 via a rod 6 for aiding driver of the vehicle in reaching the determined parking space for parking the vehicle, a microphone 4 to give voice commands for reserving the parking space, an electronic payment wallet embedded in a computing unit of the driver for paying the amount, and an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) module 8 for fetching location of the vehicle in the parking lot 10, and multiple LDRs (Light Dependent Resistors) for detecting light intensity in the parking lot 10."
