MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411014313 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'passenger assistance system for bus stop.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Mohit; Dr. Rinkesh; Sahil Kumar; and Prince Rana.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A passenger assistance system for bus stop, comprises of a platform 1 attached with rods 2 for supporting platform 1 on a ground surface at a bus stop to accommodate passengers waiting for bus, a curved-shaped member 3 to shade to the passengers, a server accessed by a microcontroller to fetch arrival schedule of buses being displayed over a display panel 4, a pair of extendable plates 5 to extend and cover the shade upon detection of rain, a touch enabled screen 6 accessed by the passenger to enter destination station for which passenger desires to buy the bus ticket, a QR (Quick Response) code scanned by the passenger for paying the price, a speaker 8 to notify the user to collect ticket from a cuboidal body 7 and an imaging unit 9 to detect average number of passengers."
