MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441014205 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'patient carriage assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A patient carriage assistive device comprises of a first and second (1,2), installed parallelly over each other the first platform 1 to accommodate a patient in a supine postures, omnidirectional wheels 3 for allowing concerned persons to maneuver the (1,2) on a ground surface, a weight sensor for detecting presence of the patient on the first platform 1, an air compressor 4 paired with an inflatable member 5 for inflating the member 5 to provide comfort to the patient, a pair of motorized rollers 6 for wrapping the straps 7 in order to secure the patient over the first platform 1, a camera 8 for detecting number of the persons positioned in proximity to the (1,2) for carrying the patient, and a telescopically operated rod 9, to extend or retract for allowing the persons to grip the handles 10 for carrying the patient."
