MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441012930 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'patient turning aid device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A patient turning aid device, comprising two platforms 1 adhered on side portions of a bed accommodated with a patient, a camera 3 detects exact location of mattress on bed, a pair of telescopically operated links 5 extend and positions a roller 4 attached with links 5 near mattress for clipping free end of bed sheet by plurality of motorized clippers 6, a proximity sensor positioned on a plate 7 to detect presence of patient's feet over plate 7, a slider 8 translates plate 7 towards a top portion of platform 1 for accommodating over bed, a microphone 9 accessed by a health practitioner to give voice commands for aiding patient to turn sideways in a specific direction and upon successful authentication, the rollers 4 rotate in an opposite direction that results in wrapping/unwrapping of bed sheet in view of aiding patient in turning sideways in specific direction."
