Semwal; Dr. Hitesh Kumar Dewangan; Alok Nath Sharma; Saurabh Saraswat; Pallavi Swarup; and Hemendra Shankar Sharma, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 5, 2023, for 'pegylated berberine loaded solid lipid nanoparticles and their cytotoxic activity.'
Inventor(s) include Deepa Yadav; Bhupesh C. Semwal; Dr. Hitesh Kumar Dewangan; Alok Nath Sharma; Saurabh Saraswat; Pallavi Swarup; and Hemendra Shankar Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a pegylated berberine loaded solid lipid nanoparticles, comprising, berberine, tristearin, soy phosphatidylcholine S-100, DSPE PEG 2000 and distilled water. The nanoparticles are resuspended in 0.9% w/v sodium chloride. The particle size of nanoparticles is 206 8.3 nm. The negative zeta potential of nanoparticles is-24.3 8.5mV. The present invention also provides a process for preparing pegylated berberine loaded solid lipid nanoparticles. The PEGylated Berberine loaded nanoparticles of present invention has berberine's cytotoxic capacity protected when it was entrapped in lipid membrane and IC50 values were found to be 13.8 M."
