The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Proposed is a pellet production method with which bursting can be more effectively suppressed with respect to pellets that are produced by a granulation step for granulating a starting material by adding water thereto and a baking step for baking the granulated material. The present invention provides a pellet production method which comprises: a granulation step in which water is added to a starting material obtained by compounding a powdery substance containing iron ore having an iron content of 63 mass% or less and an auxiliary starting material, and the resulting mixture is granulated; and a baking step for baking the thus-obtained granulated material, the baking step including a drying/preheating zone and a subsequent baking zone. Before the baking step, the specific surface area and true density of the starting material and the amount of water added in the granulation step are measured, the proper values of the drying temperature and the gas flow velocity in the drying/preheating zone in the baking step are estimated using the measured values, and the processing in the drying/preheating zone in the baking step is performed using the estimated proper values of the drying temperature and the gas flow velocity."
The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 05, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/003639.
