MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026033 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'pen positioning device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A pen positioning device, comprising an oval shaped weight body 1 having a flat top plate 2, attached to an end of a pen opposite to an ink tip of pen for providing inertial mass at the top of pen, a first plate 3 attached to top plate 2 by a first motorized hinge 5 allowing a horizontal motion of first plate 3, a second plate 6 located opposite to first plate 3 and mercury is disposed within the volume, a hollow cuboidal body 8 is attached to weight body 1 by a telescopic pipe 9 for allowing flow of mercury from weight body 1, a C-clamp having clamps cuboidal body 8 with pen, an artificial intelligence-based proximity sensor determines required center of mass for ideal position of pen and accordingly first 5 and second motorized hinges and first and second motorized ball and socket joints are operated."
