MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641049391 A) filed by J. J. College Of Engineering And Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, on April 17, for 'pet food automation system.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. K. Sivakumar; R. Pavithra; Dr. A. Ananthi; and A. Apoorvavalli.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The Pet Food Automation System consists of a bowl, a motor-driven auger housed in a partially cut-away tube, and a detachable food storage bin with a bottom entrance. Gravity-fed food can enter the tube and be transported into the bowl by the revolving auger because the cut-away part lines up with the bin entrance. The design allows for regular feeding while reducing food crushing and jamming. To provide precise and automated portion dispensing, the feeder can be linked with timing and sensing devices to regulate motor activation and feeding time."
