MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517057149 A) filed by Boehringer Ingelheim International Gmbh, Ingelheim am Rhein, Germany, on June 13, for 'phenylpiperidine derivatives as inhibitors of glutaminyl-peptide cyclotransferase and glutaminyl-peptide cyclotransferase like protein.'

Inventor(s) include Willwacher, Jens; Binder, Florian Paul Christian; Dahmann, Georg; Handschuh, Sandra Ruth; Reindl, Sophia Astrid; and Yang Hamilton, James Young Soo.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides certain phenylpiperidine derivatives of formula (I), and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, that are inhibitors of Glutaminyl -peptide cyclotransferase (QPCT) and glutaminyl-peptide cyclotransferase-like protein (QPCTL), and are therefore useful for the treatment of diseases treatable by inhibition of QPCT/L. Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions containing the same, and processes for preparing said compounds."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 18, 2023, under International application No.PCT/EP2023/086261.
