MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017967 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'piston repairing device.'
Inventor(s) include Sunil Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A piston repairing device, comprises of a body 1 associated with the device developed to be positioned on a surface, suction cups 2 installed beneath the body 1 for successfully gripping the surface, proximity sensor integrated within the body 1 for detecting presence of a piston with connecting rod within the body 1, a telescopic clamping unit 3 installed within the body 1 to extend and grip the piston in a secured manner, an artificial intelligence-based image capturing module 4 installed within the body 1 to determine type of piston the user desired to perform maintenance, a heating unit 7 installed on ceiling portion of the body 1 via a telescopic rod 8 to heat and melt the strip, thereby aiding strip to fill the damaged portion of the piston, and a motorized grinding unit 9 installed within the body 1 for grinding the surface of the piston portion."
